What We Do

RCP training at Kazungula base camp

RURAL CHURCH PLANTING (RCP) BOOT CAMPS

Each year the LMC-Africa base camp in Kazungula hosts (2) 4-week long Rural Church Planter Boot Camps.

Fourteen young men and women recommended by national church leadership in the (10) countries of southern Africa arrive at the base camp for training in rural evangelism, church planting & village upliftment projects. The students go through an intense, boot camp style practical training and discipleship regiman. When they first arrive they are given a pup tent, a sleeping roll, a sleeping bag, a flashlight and eating bowls & utensils. When they graduate at the

end of the 4-weeks they receive a Bible and are commissioned to go out into the rural villages of their native land and preach the Gospel, establish churches and work with the local community leaders to recognize specific challenges to the socio-economic status of the village (water or food security; education; health & hygiene; social issues).

EVANGELISM & OUTREACH

LMC-Africa hosts teams from all over Southern Africa and from the U.S. / Canada at our base camp in Kazungula. Some of these teams are focused on specific projects, while most are involved in evangelism and outreach to the villages in southwestern Zambia. LMC-Africa facilitates and leads these outreaches, sometimes in large overland trucks, but more often in the missions own 4-wheel drive vehicles.
